Remembering Mr Sarafat Ali

On Monday, we lost a much loved and respected member of the Symbiosis family, Mr Sarafat Ali.
A trained Agriculturist, Sarafat joined the team in 2002 and led our Rural Income Generation Project from 2003. Most recently, Sarafat served on the management team as our Human Resource Officer, bringing great wisdom to this role in helping shape our Symbiosis team.

He is remembered by all as having a studious mind, gentle nature and calm presence. One of our staff said this week, “He was a peaceful person. I never saw him angry! He was so strong.”

Sarafat also had excellent English and was often relied upon to translate reports and interpret for visitors. As such, he is widely known, much loved and his sudden death is a shock for us all.

This weekend, our staff in Bangladesh will gather in Mymensingh to grieve together and pay their respects to this good man.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, three children and one grandchild.  Please remember them all in this time of grief.

Symbiosis has lost one of our finest.
