The very first sentence of our 2022 Annual Report written by our directors says:
“ Symbiosis continues to be in a significant time of transition, a time when those who have been with the organisation for many years come to step down, and younger people step up”.
This is exemplified by the appointments at the November 2022 Annual General Meeting where we welcomed three new directors onto the board of Symbiosis International. To help our supporter community to stay connected through these changes, we thought we’d give a brief introduction to our new directors – Krystal, Sav and Adam.
Krystal identifies as Bengali deep in her soul. Having been born and brought up in Bangladesh she has an innate knowledge of the country and its people that cannot be learnt. She has a heart for those in need and her career has focused on making a difference in the community in which she lives.
With extensive experience of leadership within the health sector she looks forward to being able to work with Symbiosis and contributing towards its ongoing work.
Savaen (Sav) arrived in Brisbane in 1988 as a refugee. She is now married with 3 children, currently completing a Master of Leadership while working as the Director of the Gateway Baptist Church Ministry School.
Sav has extensive experience in areas of travel, hospitality training, management, youth work, international community development and ministry leadership. Sav also provides coaching for emerging leaders and community workers.
Adam has been a solicitor in private practice for nearly 30 years and has a heart for helping others in need.
The appeal in serving Symbiosis lies in caring most directly and effectively to the needs of the people of Bangladesh and continuing the work of achieving the vision of the founders of Symbiosis in the process.
Welcome to the team!
